RUE exists because finding small shows in Chicago is still weirdly hard. Eventbrite shows what gets promoted. Google shows what's already popular. Neither is great at showing what's actually happening tonight in the rooms where scenes get built.

So RUE pulls directly from venue websites instead of leaning on aggregator APIs and hoping for the best. That means more local bills, more weird mixed-genre nights, and more events that exist without a marketing team behind them.

It is built by Tahj, one person, because he wanted this to exist and got tired of pretending it already did.
